HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN TENTANG ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN PERILAKU IBU DALAM PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF

Abstract

The breast (ASI) is the first natural food for baby and it must be given without supplementary food until the age of 6 months. Giving the breast exclusively is very useful for all, whether baby, mother herself or for environment.Unfortunately in fact on villages or towns it seems that there is decreasing of the exclusive breast from public themselves where they think that it is modern. Besides it is caused by some factors such as health officers or health service who have not supported to giving exclusive breast.The aim of this research is to know whether or not the relationship of mother’s knowledge about the exclusive breast with mother’s attitude in exclusive breast feeding. The design used to this research is correlation, in which mother’s knowledge of exclusive breast as independent variable and mother’s  attitude in giving the exclusive breast as dependent variable.For populations in this investigation are all mother hwo have babies the age of 6 – 12 months on Sukorame village Mojoroto Kediri Town . There are 36 people.  This research happened on Pebruary 2010 by analizing technique. For hypothesis examination is sign test with significant level 0,05 . The result of investigation shows that the test Z count is – 5,747. It is smaller than the Z table 1,96. It means that Ho is responsible.  In other word, there is no correlation between  knowledge of exclusive breast with mother’s attitude in exclusive breat feeding. Therefore, knowledge is not enough  to change someone’s behavior.It is manifestation of her attitude. Thus, Both of them,genetics and environment factors are very necessity.
