Abstract

Nutritional status is a condition of the body due to the consumption of food and use of nutrients. The incidence of nutritional status of children less in Puskesmas Jambon by (0.40%).Based on preliminary studies conducted in work areas subdistrict health center Jambon Ponorogo about the nutritional status of 10 respondents who obtained less malnutrition status categories caused by the consumption of food (0.02%), infectious diseases (0.05%), and parenting (0.03%). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between infectious diseases and nutritional status in children under five in sub-district health centers Jambon Ponorogo 2014. The research design used was a correlational study. The population under study was all children under five in sub-district Puskesmas Jambon Ponorogo totaling 220 infants with a random sampling technique in samples obtained 69 toddlers. Research instrument used was a data collection sheet. The results of the study were analyzed by using Spearman rank. Results of research conducted showed that the nutritional status in the area of ​​Occupational Health Center District of Jambon Ponorogo 2014 is still much less nutritional status. From the analysis of the data obtained by the value of ρ = 0.000 <α = 0.05 followed by a t-test value of r = 0.681, which means having the strength of the relationship "strong" and the direction of the relationship is positive, meaning that the higher a toddler does not suffer from infectious diseases, the nutritional status will be high in children under five in sub-district health centers Jambon Ponorogo 2014.
